Not only is the trip into town a stunning drive in its own right along well sealed highway roads, but once you are set up in Charters Towers there are an array of touring routes open to you to explore.
This ensures that a visit to the town to take in its World War One military heritage can also embrace the array of other heritage experiences on offer in this famous gold mining region.

In addition a fly/drive options also exists for reaching the town, with the nearby airport at Townsville being a major regional destination well serviced by all major airlines.
From here you can either head west to Charters Towers by the regular coach services that operate or else hire a vehicle at the airport.
Rail connections also operate several times a week as part of the Queensland Railway's 'Inlander' service.
